So I am just curious because I have only been to some parts of Houston, how are the suburbs and the city mapped. Like in a city usualy there is the downtown urban area and its like 30 square miles with some inner city suburbs, but still suburbs. So in Houston how big is the urban area like that is still considered the urban city, like still alot of concrete, big buildings, clubs, bars, just city stuff, Where does it start and where does it end. What about Dallas?

  1. Houston's urban area is inside Loop 610, and most (not all) of the suburbs are outside 610. The city of Houston is over 600 square miles and the "Greater Houston" area is nearly 2000 square miles. Houston is, by area, the second largest city in the United States.
