How would anthropology help me with an architectural major?

  1. As I have an undergraduate degree in anthropology and am currently working in a chemistry related field, I feel I should give my two cents, for what it's worth.

    If you decide to take anthro as your minor, be prepared to hear a lot of people ask "why," especially in job interviews.  (trust me!)  Also, if you take anthro as your minor, be prepared to hear them talk about things "holistically."  Anthropology tends to look at the whole as well as the parts, and try to understand how it all interacts.  Quite a useful attribute for an architect, imo.  Sure, you might not really use the information you learn on a daily basis, but the WAY anthropologists think will help you gain a unique perspective on your chosen career.

    I took anthro because I have an insatiable desire to understand how people and things work.  Same reason I went into chemistry, actually, lol.
