Arctic Flow to sweep through the Whippers Delight Handicap Chase (For The Highfields Farm Challenge Trophy) at Plumpton
The Class 5 Whippers Delight Handicap Chase (For The Highfields Farm Challenge Trophy) will get staged at Plumpton over three miles and two furlongs on Friday, 27th April. Contesting in the race is a line-up of seven five-year and older thoroughbreds.
The purse set for the race is £1,949.
Arctic Flow, Alflora’s eight-year-old bay mare out of mare, Flow, has won twice during the previous season in the two chances that she got at Plumpton.
She won the Attheraces.com Exclusive Hugh Taylor Handicap Hurdle on 2nd January over two miles and five furlongs while racing with Wayne Kavanagh. The pair led the runner up, Crystal Prince, by 1 ¾ lengths.
Settling third was Little Roxy while the 100/30 favourite of the race, Tocatchaprince, was pulled up from the race.
Arctic Flow’s second success of the season was in the European Office Products Mares’ Handicap Hurdle on 28th February over two miles and five furlongs. It was for the second time that Arctic Flow won with Wayne Kavanagh riding.
The 7/2 favourite winner of the race led the runner up, Here’s The Key, by 1 ¼ lengths.
Striding on for the third slot behind the winner was Kaituna.
Throughout the 2011 season, these two remained to be the only victories that Arctic Flow could strike. She has been active four times during the new season but has not been able to post a win through any of the starts.
She penetrated into the new season on 23rd February in the Ashurst Wood Novices’ Handicap Chase over two miles and four and a half furlong. She finished sixth while riding with Paul Moloney.
Oscar Charlie was the 3/1 favourite of the race, paired up with Tom O’Brien. Watergate finished the closest to the winner and thus settled as the runner up. Taking up the third slot behind the winner was Just Playfull.
Till yet her most recent start of the season was in the Freebets.Co.UK Handicap Chase on 9th April at Chepstow over three miles. Arctic Flow was the 9/2 collective favourite runner up while the race was won by the other collective favourite, Pancake.
She has all the chances of striking the third win at Plumpton today.
