Ard To Beat to hammer the opposition in Gala Coral Puppies at Hove
Ard To Beat, M. Wallis’ 2-year-old, is all set to break the shackles, and put his campaign back on the winning ways. The black dog was slightly unlucky on his previous two ventures. Prior to a couple of thirds, he won an open race at Hove in great style.
The maverick hound is aiming to do the same in Thursday’s Gala Coral Puppies. There are no questions over his potential. Despite plenty of mess, the rampant hound attained the third place last twice.
The latest ride, in particular, was very unfortunate. He got off to a good start, but a mess embraced him at the very first bend. After getting bumped initially, it was not possible for him to establish his dominance.
If we look at his previous winning journey, it will become far easier to know that how dangerous hound he could be. After leaving the third box, he failed to take a good start. He, however, did not lose determination, and quickly brought things under control.
By running superbly, he took lead at the third bend, and stayed ahead afterwards. A similar act is required to do the damage in today’s clash. Among his rivals are: Islas Scolari, Droopys Hooper, Makeit Hi Ace, Droopys View, and Miss Mcgrath.
The 515 metres contest is due to begin at 20:50 GMT. A cash prize of 175 pounds will be given to the winner at the end of the race.
Makeit Hi Ace is hard to recommend, even though the bookies will be generous with the chalk. As far as Miss Mcgrath’s chances are concerned, it could be a long way back.
Droopys Hooper is making less appeal than a couple of others. The draw is not very kind too. After leaving the fourth box, it will be tough for him to make an impact.
Droopys View will also be unable to make an impression here. Islas Scolari ran way better than the bare form suggested at Monmore last time. S. Cahill’s trainee was fourth on the chart last time. He needs a bit extra spark to bounce back. Good luck to all
the contestants.
