Ard Vark to scoop a hat trick in the Good Friday Stayers at Romford on 6th April
The Good Friday Stayers is to be held at Romford over 575 metres on Friday, 6th April. The prize money for the race is set at £175 and is being contested by Bridge Jane, Ard Vark, Droopys Minnie, Head Iton Tom, Aero Venus and Mountjoy Eagle.
Leading with the best credentials for winning the race tonight is Ard Vark, Honcho Classic’s two-year-old black daughter out of b***h Ard Flash. She is very lightly raced and has quite an impressive record that dates back to the final races of the previous
season.
She is unbeaten till yet in the two races that she took part in ever since the new season broke. She took a break of almost four months and then captured the first two outings.
On 20th March, Ard Vark won a 375 metres race by clocking the track distance in 23.42 seconds with four and a half length under her belt. Pursuing closely and thus finishing the closest to the winner was Move Over Jayo.
After a gap of eight days, Ard Vark raced again over the same distance but this time led by three lengths after completing the trip in 23.52 seconds. Joining the winner on the other end of the wire was Go Johnny Go.
Winning today will entitle the two-year-old of her seasonal hat trick.
An entry to look out for is Mountjoy Eagle, Droopys Scolari’s two-year-old black and white son out of b***h Star Of Dromin, has been pretty consistent not only with the performance but also the improvement that is reflective in the rankings that have soared
gradually during the last two starts.
The Bags Easter Bunny Standard – Heat 1 on 14th March at Yarmouth over 462 metres was won by the 4/5 favourite, Honey Bound, who rested the race in 28.01 seconds. Threatening the winner was Mountjoy Eagle who took 28.03 seconds to time the distance.
He then scored second in the Bags/Sis Easter Bunny Standard Final on 19th March at Yarmouth.
The most recent start had him bagging the Coral Romford Maiden Stayers on 23rd March at Romford as he covered the 575 metres in 36.02 seconds.
Both, Ard Vark and Mountjoy Eagle are bound to give each other a hard time today.
