Ardbeg Brandon and Romeo Neo joint favourites in Hove – Greyhound Racing Preview
Ardbeg Brandon and Romeo Neo are all set to clash in the 515 metres Grade A3 greyhound race at Hove in England on Friday, February 10, 2012. The bookmakers have shown equal faith in both dogs, making them joint favourites for the event, with the winning
prize of £124.
Out of the two favourites for today’s race, Ardbeg Brandon has been the more impressive greyhound over the past few months. He has been able to produce consistent results, and is likely to repeat the same at Hove. He will enter the race today with
a starting price of 11 to 4.
K. Tester’s trained dog has won two of his last three outings, which indicates the kind of form he is in. However, the previous event he took part in did not turn out to be an impressive one.
Ardbeg Brandon went into that race as the favourite, with a starting price of 7 to 4. However, a few mistakes in the event cost him dearly, and he only managed an unimpressive fifth place finish.
His trainer would have worked hard to correct those mistakes, and will be confident of a decent showing this time around.
Joint favourite dog for today’s race is the son of Head Bound, out of Farantane Sinead, and was born in September, 2009.
Things have not gone that well for, Romeo Neo, in the past few races at Hove, as victories have dried up. However, this does not rule the experienced dog out for today’s event, as he has the speed and skill to match others.
Romeo Neo’s last victory at Hove was back in January, 2011. Since then, he has raced here three times, but without posting a victory. His last run at the venue saw him finish fourth after a struggling start.
J. Gammon’s trained greyhound has also been awarded with a starting price of 11 to 4. He is the son of Collision, out of Fabulous Lourdes, and was born in July, 2009.
The joint favourites are expected to get a tough fight from a couple of other greyhounds, Fabulous Student and Westmead Triton. Both have been given a starting price of 4 to 1, and have the potential to outperform other participants.
Fabulous Student, also trained by J. Gammon, has been in very good rhythm and is expected to make an impression at Hove today. She finished second in her last outing at this venue, and has the speed to match others.
Born in June 2009, Fabulous Student is the daughter of College Causeway, out of Fabulous Evening.
On the other hand, Westmead Triton also has the ability to cause an upset today. He has lost some momentum over the past few races, but has the potential to bounce back anytime.
His trainer, W. Wrighting will be expecting a solid display today. Westmead Triton is the youngest of all greyhounds racing today. He was born in January 2012, and is the son of Top Honcho, out of Westmead Olivia.
The final two participants for today’s race are Thurlesbeg Deks and Karma Enda. They have been given a starting price of 9 to 2 and 5 to 1, respectively. Both have the potential to spring up a surprise, which will spice things up at Hove today.
