Ardbeg Chris to emerge triumphant from the Grade OR Price Forbes Classic at Hove
The Grade OR Price Forbes Classic will take place at Hove on 3rd May, 2012, where six hounds will compete for the purse of £150 over a distance of 285 metres.
Ardbeg Chris will race as a favourite with odds of 2 to 1 breaking from trap 1, while the rest of the field looks competitive with the likes of Britania Skips, Millwards Dan, Goa Storm, Razldazl Clooney, and White Impact.
The son of Head Bound, out of Farantane Sinead, started his career at Hove, where he stood third on 8th August, 2011, covered a distance of 515 metres.
The black hound began this season with a victory, as he defeated, Ardbeg Dottie, by 3 lengths in 16.48 seconds, where he briskly covered the distance of 285 metres.
Over the course of the season, the K. Tester trained hound secured six victories including the aforementioned race.
In his most recent start, he succeeded over, Carden Bert, by 2 ½ lengths in the Grade D1 285m flat race at Hove on 27th
April, 2012.
Britania Skips will break from trap 4, and will give Ardbeg Chris a tough time on the track as he is entering with the odds of 3 to 1.
Trained by M. Dartnall, the hound ran a solo on 21st February, 2012, where he completed the distance of 285 metres in 16.52 seconds.
The lightly raced son of Ballymac Ruso, out of Lady Freckles finished as a runner-up on 28th February, 2012, where he was defeated by, Lady Lomasi, by 3 lengths in 29.59 seconds.
The black and white hound bagged the first victory of his career on 7th April, 2012, in the Grade D1 285m flat race at Swindon, where he raced as a favourite with, Stanton Jerry.
He defeated his joint favourite with the help of his swift pace and landed 2 ¼ lengths before him in 16.35 seconds.
He finished fifth in the Grade OR Coral.Co.Uk Maiden Sprint at Hove, but Dartnall is hoping that he will be able to redeem himself in this race.
It is speculated that Ardbeg Chris will try to achieve the victory and cross the wire first, but it will not be easy for him as he will be challenged by Britania Skips.
