Ardera Fernando shines in A2 race at Hall Green
The Hall Green Greyhound Stadium in Birmingham is a place where champions are born. Regardless of who wins, the races are always guaranteed to provide a high level of excitement.
The A2 race held during an action-packed day of races at Hall Green Greyhound Stadium saw Ardera Fernando (5-1) pull off a great win. After a good start from trap six, he led the run in
to finish with a time of 29.30 seconds. Finishing two lengths behind the winner was Toomaline Henry, the 13-8 favourite. He held an early pace, but crowded at the quarter mark, resulting in a 29.46 finish.
After holding an early pace and leading halfway, Chloes Fortune (6-1) placed third after crowding second. He went on to finish in 29.54, which was a single length behind Toomaline Henry.
Lord of Time (4-1) took fourth place after missing the top three by a head’s length. He crowded fourth, but ran on to finish in 29.55.
A fifth-place finish didn’t seem to bother Ireallydontcare (4-1), who was forced to check second. His time of 29.67 was 1 ½ lengths behind Lord of Time. Newtown Super (5-1) finished in
last place after crowding fourth. He was a ½ length out of fifth place with a 29.71 finish.
In the A3 race held later on, Funcheon River (4-1) held an early pace from trap two, and soon led to lay claim on the top stop in 29.20. Westmead Godiva (8-1) finished the race 1¼ lengths
behind the champion with a time of 29.30.
Locking up the third position was Windgap Kerry (7-2), who had rebounded from a crowded start from trap five. He completed the race in 29.38, which was 1 length out of second place. Betabrett
(3-1) was the foruth-place finisher, despite a relatively clear run. He matched the third-place time of 29.38, and was a shoulder’s length behind Windgap Kerry.
It was not a good day for Trial Day (6-1), who finished fifth after being forced to check first. His time of 29.66 placed him 3½ lengths out of fourth place. Bringing up the rear was 5-2
favourite Professor Boswell, who had a crowded start. She would go on to bump halfway, resulting in a 29.82 finish that was 2 lengths behind Trial Day.
Hall Green Greyhound Stadium will host a race evening on Friday, 22 October that is sure to delight racing fans. The first race is scheduled to begin at 19:25.
