Ardfert Mark favourite for Williamhill.com Stakes
Ardfert Mark is likely to win the Williamhill.com Stakes at Newcastle in England on Tuesday, July 3, 2012. The owner of the winning greyhound will get a cash prize of £118 in the end.
The Grade A1, 480 metres flat race is scheduled to start at 21:22 GMT and no runner can be declared as the clear favourite for victory in it. However, Ardfert Mark seems to have the tools to win with consistency and the punters should risk a few bets on
him today.
The D. Calvert’s trainee does not have a lot of experience, as he just made his debut less than two months ago. His first appearance was in a T2 event where he dominated his opponent completely. He followed that up with a few more solid shows in such events
and first raced in a competitive class on ninth June.
The black dog was given a starting price of 5 to 2 back then and he had to cover an overall distance of 480 metres. He displayed very good speed at the start and was in the lead pretty early. Furthermore, he proved that his stamina was also not bad, as he
held onto the lead until the end, winning by five lengths.
Despite his heroics in his first race, Ardfert Mark was not given the best odds in his second outing. He was priced 7 to 2 back then, but the result was once again the same for him, as he ran to the top. He had to fight a little harder this time though,
as he managed to win by one length.
Although Royal Impact’s son out of Killaharry Dawn was expected to complete a hat-trick of Grade A1 victories, he was unable to do so, finishing way down in fifth place. This was his most recent outing, which shows that he has only participated in three
events until now.
The bookies do not believe that Ardfert Mark will be able to finish on top today, as he lacks the experience to tackle pressure situations. However, his trainer would be confident because of his decent performances until now.
On the other hand, Stanley One will also be a top contender for victory in the race at Newcastle.
