Ardkilly Witness all set to win Agetur UK Novices´ Hurdle
Ardkilly Witness has proved his class over both good and soft surfaces, thus, we can expect that the Dr Richard Newland trained bay gelding will be able to notch up top spot convincingly in today’s Agetur UK Novices´ Hurdle that is set to go over the good
to soft course of Towcester.
This is going to be the six-year-old veteran horse’s first trip to this venue. Despite this, he will feel comfortable to stretch his legs over the distance of 2 miles and 5 furlongs. For the sake of the prize money worth £2,534, the talented Irish horse
will compete against 14 rivals.
Ardkilly Witness has been constantly on the podium since the dawn of the calendar year. During this season, he has achieved two triumphs, two runner-up positions and a third. This is an impressive record indeed.
Currently, the son of Witness Box out of Ardkilly Angel is filled with confidence and momentum. He will capitalise on these things fully to make a big impact in today’s contest.
The F. Tierney bred gelding started the season with the runner-up position on January 15. That was the Grasstrack 6&7yo Geldings Maiden (Div 1). He moved on to finish third in The Bridgie Terries Bar 6yo Geldings Maiden (Div 1), held on January 22.
The brilliant sprinter marvellously broke his maiden on February 12 by winning the Coolagown Stud 6&7yo Geldings Maiden at Knockanard.
In the very next race entitled as Smart Insurance Claim Winner Of One 4yo+ (Mdns Excl), Ardkilly Witness emphatically beat the hot favourite candidate, Awbeg Massini, to finish first.
The skilled runner beautifully finished second in each of his last two races. Thus, the horse is awash with confidence that will help him thrive in the coming contest.
Queen Of Mantua is too likely to perform well today. The Fergal O'Brien trained bay mare elegantly won the Niftylift Mares' Novices' Hurdle at Towcester on May 14. Despite being the non-favourite candidate, he thrived quite convincingly.
It is expected that the mare and the gelding will compete neck-to-neck. The race will be interesting enough. Good luck to both the contestants.
