I am plannig to use them for a loft bed (aka bunk bed). I want to make sure I am not exposing my child to any harmful side effects.

  1. "Due to health concerns, the use of CCA in wood intended for use around homes and playgrounds is no longer permitted in Canada or the US. As of January 1, 2004, wood products intended for use in play structures, decks, fences, landscape timber or other household uses cannot be treated with CCA. Wood for industrial use can still be treated with CCA."

No, any of the consumer level woods you buy, will not, and legally cannot be harmful to you, your family or your children.

  2. There's plenty of the 2x4 studs and if you going to make the bed ,use maple wood #1 stud size 8' long ,no smell and no moist what so ever.

  3. The standard studs they sell are not treated, just kiln dried.
