  1. 1 bag and 1 personal item up to 40 lbs or 18 kg allowed as carry-on

one small personal article such as a briefcase, purse, day planner, small laptop computer, camera case, compact disk player or similar sized personal entertainment item

personal aid devices such as wheelchairs, braces, canes, crutches, prosthetic devices and walking sticks, provided passenger is dependent on them

one infant article such as a small collapsible stroller, a diaper bag or a government approved child seat (larger strollers can be checked in the jetway prior to boarding the aircraft)

full-size video game consoles (for example Playstation®, X-box®, or Nintendo®), full-size DVD players, and video cameras that use video cassettes (must be removed from carrying cases and submitted separately for x-ray screening)

CPAP breathing machines (must be removed from carrying case and submitted separately for x-ray screening)

    Overweight Baggage

    Economy Class

Customers who travel in Economy Class with checked baggage over 50 lbs (23 kg) and not exceeding 70 lbs (32 kg) will be charged at the rate of $50.00 per piece.

These charges are in addition to any charge assessed for additional or oversized baggage.

Baggage weighing more than 70 lbs (32 kg) will not be accepted as checked baggage.

    Oversized Baggage

Customers who travel with checked baggage exceeding 62 linear inches (157 cm) (total length + width + height) will be charged at the rate of $100.00 per piece.

These charges are in addition to any charge assessed for additional or overweight baggage.

Baggage measuring more than 115 in (292 cm) (total outside dimensions; length + width + height) will not be accepted as checked baggage.

  2. It depends on the airline you're flying, I'm afraid. Your best bet is to go to the airline's website and check their baggage policy.

In general, though, most airlines flying between London and Mexico will allow you two pieces of checked luggage, as long as neither weighs more than 23kg. You will also very likely be allowed two pieces of carry-on baggage, provided one is a laptop (remember you'll have to take it out of the bag for security) and the other fits the size and weight requirements (again, you'll have to check your particular airline's specifications.)

Bottom line: you should be good. To be sure, though, check in with the airline you're flying and find out.

    Hope this helps!

  3. all airlines have changed the rules on excess baggage recently, but generally you can take a laptop plus your normal carry on bag, if they get too strict you can put your laptop in your carry on luggage till you get on the plane. check the airline website and they will tell you clearly their new rules and excess pricing regarding your checked in luggage
