This happened because of severe headaches i was having. Everything turned out to be fine but im stll concerned about how much radiation i recieved. I was 18 at the time a month away from turning 19. Im 20 now, healthy and in shape. Still very troubled by this though

  1. If you had three scans of your head (the sinus scan is really a head scan when you're considering radiation exposure), you've had about 6 milisieverts of exposure, which is below the commonly accepted minimal point for potential (note: POTENTIAL) cancer risk.

According to the second article, it takes about 500 milisieverts to result in  cancer.

I'd say you are perfectly ok. You did receive more radiation than normal. You did not receive a lot. You should be aware, though, that you have had more than the average bear, and be vigilant in informing your doctors that you wish to minimize radiation exposure in the future.

  2. I'm sure you've got nothing to worry about with the radiation, lots of people have to have several scans at one time & the docs wouldn't do it if they thought it would harm you in anyway.

The headaches may be caused by stress or maybe you need your eyes tested? See your doctor about this to see if there maybe another cause for them but I'm sure he'll put your mind at rest also.

  3. it depends on the importance of the scans. why beat urself up now though. U are ok and in good health so...
