Are 2 year old twins (2 months shy of being 3) ready for toddler beds?

Our 2 year old twins have always been really good sleepers and we have always had a good bedtime routine. They have recently been potty trained. Lately they have not wanted to go to sleep..they will cry until we let them out of the crib to go potty, get a drink of water, get a kleenex, or anything that they can think of. Is it time to switch them to toddler beds and if so...any ideas on keeping them in bed and safe? Or any other ideas about the change in not wanting to go to sleep?? Any ideas would be appreciated!!

  1. yeah my daughter is 2, (27 months) and she has been in ehr toddler bed now for a few months. they proly couldve been in a toddler bed for a while, but every parent is different.

that is awesome they already got potty trained, im having a rough time with that with my daughter!

  2. I have twin sons that will be 3 in August. I started putting them in toddler beds with side rails about a year ago. They usually sleep in my bed right now because I'm switching rooms around, but I definitely think your twins are old enough. It is actually more dangerous to put them in a crib at this age because they will try to climb out and could get hurt. If you make a HUGE deal about them getting to sleep in big kid beds, they may go to bed easier. Let them pick out their own sheets and blankets, too. This will make their big kid beds more exciting. Good luck.

  3. yep- if u dotn ant a bed straight away try and matress on the floor we did that last summer with our 2.5 yr old.

    get them involved!!!!

    get them to pick sheets.

u can get side bars in most stores like target to stop them fallign out of bed. - pillows on the floor are good also!
