Actually, I would say yes.  You're in an interesting situation by getting one.  Oldsmobile the company is owned by GM, and they shut Oldsmobile down in 2004.  That means nobody wants Oldsmobile cars (they're not real trendy, you know?), which means it'll be cheap.  In addition, since it was owned by GM, you know you'll always be able to find parts if something goes wrong.  In addition Oldsmobile, by being owned by GM, has pretty much the same chances of breaking down or giving you problems as any 2001 GM car.  I would check the specific car on carfax, but I think the 2001 Aurora is a great car.
