Are 2001 and 2002 rm 125 cylinders interchangable?

Possibly,but I doubt it.You should just get whichever cylinder cylinder came off the bike rebored and plated.The rings will not take care of any gap,if the piston is fractionally smaller the rings will open out from their pins,spin round and rip the top off the piston when they catch on the ports.If you don't know what measurements you need to take,then you should take it to someone who does.Bore/Stroke,port height,piston crown to pin,piston skirt to pin and squish area.

Check barrel to crankcase fitting. Internal diameter is not a problem as piston rings will take care of that.
