  1. We have people in this area in their 60's riding road bikes. But what is "elderly"?? 70's?

If the person has a balance problem because of old age, an adult trike would be ok. They are safe as long as they're ridden in a safe manner.

Who told her she needs this bike  ?

  2. Absolutely and shame on her father who wasn't there to teach how to ride a bike. This is why it is so important to spend time with our kids.

  3. YES, Depend on her needs. Now check at walmart, they have a nice

adult tricycle for less than $300.00

  4. Actually, there is some new research that demonstrates that recumbent bikes are extremely bad for the body due to the unnatural riding position and resultant stress on the joints. I would think a three wheeler for an elderly person would be much better, and would be safer than a two-wheeled bike.

I go to senior housing developments quite a bit due to my job, and I have never ever seen an elderly person on a recumbent, but I do often see them on three-wheelers, so right there I'd say that would be the more logical choice.

  5. I believe the model they're talking about is the Sun EZ-3

You can find others in the same style that are cheaper at some of the bike shops around for as little as $400 to $500 but they will not be as nice, chances are they'll be a single or three speed instead eight or nine and they wont have the nice seat and they'll be about twice the weight. They are also quit safe

As for the person talking about recumbents being bad to ride, you need to do some checking because it's just the opposite of what your stating.

  6. Get her a 3 wheeler they are safer then a 2 wheeler.
