assuming you are talking about 3 wheel dirt machines, they have been shown as unsafe and are not legal to manufacture. they are legal to own and ride, however, most riding areas will not allow them to be ridden except on your own land. IF you mean street 'trikes' they are legal and safe because of their width and legnth

So long as it is registered, MOTed, insured and taxed, and the driver has the relevant licence and protective gear (if no rollcage), then it is completely legal in the UK.

Where I live, it's illegal to sell them and I don't know whether  you can insure them either.

Otherwise you take your own life in  your hands because they have been officially declared dangerous to public safety and can no longer be sold by retailers.
