Not as in the literal - that these women/ girls end up in p**n - but part of an industry that values only looks and sexuality, however that sexuality is viewed.

  1. I don't feel that they value sexuality, I don't personally think of s*x when I see beauty pageants.  I also feel that not all p**n is simply beauty.  I think this is one of those logic problems like "Not all A's are B's, but some B's are A's.".

  2. If the appreciation of beauty immediately encourages one to m********e, I would say, "Yes."   But I've been to the Louvre many times and I didn't see any hands down the pants in front of the Venus de Milo.  However, it is a part of the p**n/prostitution continuum in a way that you might not appreciate.  Having been in pageants, I know that there is a lot of pressure on the younger girls to socialize with older men/judges/sponsors.  It seems like a hunting grounds for a teen-aged mistress, now that I look back.  It is a way for poorer women to get a "sponsor."  Luckily, I didn't need the money.

  3. You are so deluded! Like those tiny girls look like or act like the women on p**n! You are a sick moralist!

  4. Beauty contest seem to encourage really bad values...and vapid personalities.  Why not encourage intelligence rather than vanity?

Have u seen Little Miss Sunshine? Those tiny girls plastered in make-up were terrifying!!

    Interesting question!

  5. I guess you could say that beauty contests are just G-rated precursors to p**n.

  6. Maybe. But it would be a wrong message assuming that every exibition of beauty is mercification. The fact is that there's no more something as a real beauty contest. We just turned them in some meat-dolls market, in which we make some pretties in a skimpy swimsuit and high heels, we give them five minutes to babble something about world peace, something already written, and then we judge them by her cleavage and rear assets alone.

The message there becomes "I don't value what you can say, as long as you're pretty you'll be a miss, you don't need to be anything but a body".

The whole "pageant system" has to be retooled, valuing more the ability for aspiring actresses and showbiz women to hold themselves. I think we need more Oprahs and less strippers.

  7. Beauty contests and p**n value only sexuality and/or beauty, yes, congrats for figuring that out :-), although at least in beauty contests sometimes some sort of talent show is added, but I do think beauty is the most important factor for the outcome, however Iam no expert.

By contrast there are many other industries which value other sets of skills with total disregard to beauty and sexuality engineering comes to mind.

  8. Well then if that is your argument then add to the list:

    Magazines and Print media

    Modeling

    Advertising

    Movies

    Television

    Video Games

    Fashion Industry

    Cosmetic Industry

Hmmm s*x is part of humanity. Its in our nature I'm afraid, and yes women look at men too at times as s*x objects.

  9. Indubitably.  It's all part of the objectification of women.  This is not to imply that women do not objectify themselves or other women: they do.  Just watch "Playgirls of the p**n Mansion" or whatever it's called.

    ((Watch those thumbs go down....!))

  10. Beauty contests are disgusting, but I would not put them in the same catagory as p**n.   Have you seen a p**n flick lately? I do and believe me I've seen some fugly ones in them.

For the people who thumbed me down............................

Watch a p**n sometime and see for yourself that most of the people in them are not pretty by modern standards.

If you would actually watch one and see for yourself then you would know that is a fact.

So as far as beauty is concerned no p**n and contests are not in the same boat.

  11. they do value things that I personally don't value. I would not call it p**n, but I do think that it is odd that they are judged on beauty, when that has nothing to do with life
