  1. the 4 strokes will never take over because people still like 2 stokes but like in the 85, 65 classes they are all 2 stokes

  2. Yes they already have. Honda has discontinued there 2 strokes. The last 2 stroke models they have made were the 2007 models. AS well as other manufacturers I'm not sure.

  3. Originally the date for the complete phasing out of 2 strokes dirt bikes was going to be around 2010 but now there seems to be some confusion as to when this will happen.  Honda has already stopped producing the 2 stroke and much of the reason for the 2 strokes being phased out is due to the pollution that they create as they are oil burners.

Most people are opting for the 250 4 stroke anyway and most places at least here in Australia tend to run the 125cc with the 250cc anyway and this is called the Lites class.  With the choice of not being able to purchase a Honda taken away that will also reduce the amount of people who would be willing to go with a 125cc and as soon as the decision is made to stop allowing them to compete they will just disappear.

  4. Except for the mini classes they already have. Do you watch MX on TV? No one races a 2 stroke in MX professionally, not even the privateers who buy their own bikes. As far as local races, I only run about 4 different tracks these days and outside of the mini classes there are almost no 2 strokes competing even at the amateur level. Out of a gate of say 40 riders I've never seen more than 2 125's in the lites class and I don't think I've seen a 250 racing the premium class for at least 3 years now. Obviously there will be some exceptions, but for all intentional purposes the 4 stroke has already taken over like it or not. Obviously these first two guys have never been to a motocross race, or picked up a motocross magazine in the last 5 years.

  5. i dont think they will ever take over the 2 strokes at least not for mx but more than likely for atv..
