Are 96 Dodge neons Known for tranny problems?

I was just wonderin if it was worth it to swap out trannys in my 96 neon im going to pick one up for 300 so i was wonderin if that year neon has constant tranny problems.

  1. Pre op or Post op if post op shouldn't be a problem


  2. I bought a brand new neon in 1996. At 3000 miles the clutch cable came loose. Luckily, I knew how to drive a vehicle without having to change gears and made it to the dealer. At 6000 Miles, the jack shaft broke into the engine and I was out of a ride for another 2 weeks. At 9000 miles, the transfer case burst to pieces. I think they are all BAD!!! Sell the car.

  3. Don't kick out your number one tranny because it doesn't like your car! From what I've heard, they usually like higher class vehicles, but you need to have a talk with the man-woman
