Are African Americans curious about their possible/probable European bloodlines?

  3. Yes, they are. African culture is probably the least interesting and least studied in the world. And I mean indigenous African countries with ******* populations. Everybody's fascinated with Europe and East Asia because of their advanced societies.

  5. Judging by some of the comments I read on Afrocentric chat boards, a lot of them seem to despise their European ancestry and try to pretend it doesn't exist. The average black American is about 22% European, and 3% native American.

    I think the lack of African Americans chasing down European ancestors and looking for their African tribe of origin would suggest that they aren't interested in their European ancestry too.

    As someone who studies DNA distribution in populations, I can't say I blame them. Europeans are all so closely related it's boring. African tribes are way more interesting.
