Question:

Are Air Canada in flight movies free?

I'm going to be flying on an intercontinental flight from Toronto to Tokyo on Air Canada's Boeing 777-300ER (77W) in September.

It says: Entertainment In-Seat audio-video (on demand)

80 hours of video & 50 hours of audio

Is this service provided or do you have to pay? Does "On Demand" mean you pay?

I have flown Air Canada in 2007 from Edmonton to Ottawa and I remember each seat having a screen you could watch movies on, and they were completely free, however my husband is now telling me that someone he knew had to pay. What's going on? I would like to know so that I can plan on bringing a book or videogames instead because I am not paying extra just to watch movies when I got them for free before. Thanks!

  1. hi i was on the plane last week and it was great. My first experience was quite bad with air canada but now they are totally changed. comfortable seats touch screen tv audio video everything is free you just have to pay for the head sets, which is 5 bucks.

  2. I flew from Toronto to Tokyo this past year, and the movies were provided for free! I can only hope for you that they do the same! It's a horrid, long flight without any entertainment, though I wouldn't be surprised if AC tried to charge you for it.
