Are Americans stupid compared to other Western countries?

I have seen some polls that suggest the US has the 2nd worst education rates among industrialized nations.

Does that mean Americans are stupid though compared to other industrialized countries?

Obvsiouly I am generalizing here, I am talking about Americans as a whole.

we are not stupid but we are a little more lazy. with all the games and computers and cell phones who wants to do homework or study.

School and college lasts only a few years. Education hopefully, is a never ending process. School, after all, only prepares some people for life. Others come fully prepared.

As an American our educational level is lower than that, and some Americans are stupid, but we all must remember that sometimes its the educated that get us into scrapes that some common sense would have solved.

We have the same amount of stupid people as the rest of the world. But because of a very poor education system, too many toys, free time, and a high standard of living, a lot of us are lazy, jaded, un-educated and have a very unearned sense of entitlement. We also have a huge number of talented, smart and caring folks, too.
