  1. I don't see any difference.

My daughter has both and they look the same to me.

Maybe if your a professional it might make a difference.

  2. I think they are the same. Each player has his/her own preference.

You would have to ask a player for advice.

  3. They never were.  I might have my numbers wrong but Soccer boots used to have 11 moulded studs.  You weren't allowed to have s***w ins.

Aussie rules boots (and they were boots, coming up the ankles) had four in the heel and either two or three  in the toe.  Most players had two or three sets of studs at different lengths according to how soft the ground is (hence the expression "he should have the long stops in" when a guy slipped over.

That was a long time ago.  I think it is fact that you still can't use metal s***w-in type studs in Soccer, but a lot of Aussie Rules players use moulded soles now.  The Blades for example are much easier to run and accelerate in but (from experience) you've got to be careful if you need to twist and turn in a hurry.

Some players still carry three sets of studs (if I were a pro, I'd do that plus carry some Blades)
