I read an article about this..and it makes you wonder.

http://www.sportingo.com/cricket/a8555_why-australia-india-england-new-zealand-hogging-cricket-limelight

I don't know about other countries but i am positive South Africa should be up there with the best, but they're not.

South Africa are one of the most under-rated teams.

MY QUESTION:

Are Australia, India, New Zealand and England taking the cricket limelight? These teams are in the papers and the most talked about even if they're losing there matches.

What are your thaughts?

  1. i am an indian but i have always been a very big fan of south african cricket

they are so much like the spartan spirit(never say die)

south africa is a small country as we all know in which rugby is a very famous sport but still cricket is holding good and i think south africa is one of the best teams in world cricket

its just that they don't have a rich enough board and some players like kevin peterson prefer money over honour

  2. I'd have to disagree with New Zealand being a part of that group.

  3. Well, Australia and  India never did bad in long terms.

At the moment India is pouring money into Cricket. (I see it as a good thing for Cricket)

English Cricket was struggling throughout the past when we take it by long terms. Even though they have a good team at the moment , they are still beaten up easily in big tournaments.

South Africa is at #1 at the moment. So yes they are under rated.

EDIT: It is good to see someone who loves Sri Lanka. The best country on earth.

  4. I can't think what you mean, as S.Africa are on top of the ODI table equal with Australia, & coming 3rd in the tests. So how are they underrated? I have great respect for S.Africa, & I know most other users here do as well.

  5. I honestly don't know why??? It could be to do with the huge amounts of media in  Aus, Eng and Ind. I always say that if Kallis or Pollock were Indian then they would be world famous!!!.

BUT with South Africa playing England and Australia in there next 2 series, now they can get the media coverage that they deserve

  6. west indies should  be up there as well, pakistan another which seems to have the most attention

i know england are playing new zealand about 30 miles up the road forget what competion it's for

    be a good game hopefully

  7. Well it happens when cricket is so popular in those countries you named...

I agree that India,Australia and England are quite often in the news but to be honest i could not put New Zealand up there..

And as far as your ?? to Neo,Kevin Pieterson was born in Sth Africa thats the connection there..lol
