  1. I soak all my domestic oven stainless steel bits and bbq bits in a solution of caustic soda, leave them soaking and rinse, absolutely brilliant stuff but use gloves, my husband started doing it and oven cleaning is especially painless, everything comes up like new. We bought some large rectangular (not deep) plastic storage boxes from BQ with snap on lids, so that whilst they soak overnight nobody can get injured, drain stuff down grid rinse and all items are clean and stainless is sparkiling/

  2. defiantly,

  3. YUP completely safe. thats a nice grill btw.. i have it :) I was the grill plates all the time... i think it works best at washing out the grease and the tough spots on the grill! Good luck!

  4. Depends on what they are made of.  The only thing that a dishwasher could do the them, if by some miracle it got them clean, is to make cast iron plates rusty (bad).  If the plates have a lot of baked on crud then you are gonna have to get medieval on them with a scraper or oven cleaner or toss them in a self cleaning over and run the cycle.

After cleaning cast iron you must immediately dry them and coat them with cooking grease or oil so they don't rust in a few minutes.

  5. Of course it is, if it's fire safe technology, it can take a little bit of water
