Question:

Are BT s******g me over?

Last month I made 5 calls using my British Telecom land line. My bill for that month is over £15.

My calls amounted to less than £2 and all the rest is line rental. Is it true that that's their cheapest deal because £13 for a phone I don't make calls on is ridiculous?

  1. My BT bill was £187 for 3 months for landline and internet.  Despite the fact I have free weekend and evening deals and a £15 deal for 3 months to make international calls.

I barely make any calls anyway - its costing me money to 'save' money.

  2. £15?! you're lucky or very tight :-)

  3. I agree with the above!  And unless you have cable you usually need to pay BT Line Rental for the T'internet.  Its a scam that I'm fed up with!!  I'm getting Cable Broadband and a skype phone, BT aren't getting my money!!

  4. It's something called LINE RENTAL.

You need to pay a monthly fee of about £10 or so for your phone line, regardless of whether or not you made an calls.

If your making that little calls in the first place, why do you have a landline?

Your wasting your own money there.

  5. I moved from BT about 2 years ago when the bills were to crazy to pay off. i moved to sky it was much better than BT. the internet connection was excellent hardly had any problems. Now im with talk talk to save even more, but the internet is not quite so good.

i think they are ripping you off, you have to put all your bills together and see how much you could save if you were with another network.

    hope i helped!

  6. ur dum they charge you for using there company too duh !

  7. It's the same wiht every company they charge line rental an are all 9 to 11 a month!

if you make that few calls why got scrap the landline and get a Pay As You Go Mobile!! then you only pay for the calls you make and costs approx £5 per month but then you need £30 to buy the phone in the first place!

The ONLY reason to keep your BT line is for the internet or broadband access but if you use a little you can get a USB 3G dongle for your computer for £30/month but thats not saving you money.

  8. yeah you and everybody else

  9. you could change your isp to tiscali and they offer internet and free line rental (u dont pay line rental) for 12 pound a month internet and phone for 12 is good
