Question:

Are Bavarians really part French? What about the Bayern language?

What about the Prussians being part Polish?

they look similar. (both the Bavarians look some French and the Prussians look some Polish)

What about other regions of Germany or Austria?

  1. No.  I was in Bavaria and they generally speak Schwabish which is a dialect of German.  While near Germany, many bars would have signs such as "NO FRENCH."  This was back in the 1980s.  The French probably have more Latin influence.  There is definitely a blending of those people.


  2. No. Bavaria is one of germany`s "Departments", although it has a special state of politics within the german federation. but it is definitely not french or french spoken. i life 2 hours away of the border. they speak the one of the most beloved dialects of the german speaking world!

  3. Bavarians French!?  I don't think so.  

    If you like German food, beer and dancing, try the  Schwabish Alb in central New Jersey sometime.  Wow, long time since I've enjoyed that, wonder if it is still there.
