Are Best Buy warantees specific to their store?

Question

The nearest Best Buy to my college is 50 miles away. I'd like to get a laptop there while I'm still at home since I like their selection and customer service. However, if my laptop breaks and I need to use the warantee, do I have to go to Best Buy or can I go to any computer store that sells my laptop?

you have to get it from bestbuy if its their warrantee . i mean if you worked at walmart would you want somebody using your warrantee at target !?

You can go to any Best Buy, their warranties are good nationwide.
