  1. England is one part of the island of Britain and of the Kingdom of Great Britain, which has been superseded by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.  Brittany is something different--a peninsula on the west cost of France.

As for one of the preceding answers, the present Queen IS the next in line after her uncle King Edward VIII (since he had no chlidren) and her father, the late King  George VI.  She signs herself Elizabeth R, for Regina, not Rex.  These words are titles, the Latin for Queen and King, not family names.  If the Queen has a last name, it's Windsor--assuming she "kept her own name" when she married Prince Philip, who is a Mountbatten.   Henry VIII was not her great-great-great-grandfather but her 14th-great uncle.  And she is not yet the longest-reigning British monarch.  At present she had reigned for 56 years and 12 days and will pass Henry III  on March 6,  but George III ( 59 years, 3 months, 4 days) and Queen Victoria (63 year and 5 months) are still ahead of her.

  2. Britain is the island.  It consists of three countrie: England, Scotland and Wales.

England is one of those countries.

  3. No. Great Britain is a huge Monarchy; the largest ever on the planet. England is only a small part of it about the size of 1/4 of the United States. Queen Elizabeth, II is the Head of State of the United Kingdom encompassing England, Whales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, Queen of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Saint Kitts and Nevis. She is also Empress of India although she did give them independence, but they still respect her Crown.

Britain or Brittany as it is known is a realm of power. The reason for this is the family ancestry that has spread across the globe by family relations.  Germany, Russia, Greece, Spain, France and more have been overseen by this dynasty of relatives. Even Prince Phillip (her husband) is related to his own wife on the German side of the Montbaddens. Her grandfather was the first Windsor and her great-great-great grandfather was Henry, VIII.

That is why she is the grandmother of the current Prince Henry, who is called "Harry", but that is not his Christened name. He was named after Henry, VIII. Princess Diana nicknamed him Harry, but that is not his name. Had Her Majesty's uncle Edward not abdicated the throne for Wallace Simpson, her father George would never have been King and she would not have been Queen. She was not in line of succession, but because of Edward's decision to abdicate, ultimately made her Queen, after her father. She is not a Windsor, but a Rex. That was Henry, VIII's last name. That is why you see E(II)R on everything. It stands for Elizabeth, II Rex.

Britain is Queen Elizabeth, II of the United Kingdom; the longest reigning Monarch in Britain's history. While it is is most likely that HRH Prince Charles Phillip Arthur George will take the throne; the next King after him will Be William, the eldest son of the Prince of Wales and our late Princess Diana. To this position will convey all of the above positions. I trust he will be as dutiful as his distinguished and appreciated mother; The Queen.

  4. Britain includes England, Scotland, and Wales. England is apart of Great Britain. "Great Britain" is no longer officially used for a country, but simply is an island in the United Kingdom. Politically, "Great Britain" describes the combination of England, Scotland, and Wales, and therefore also includes a number of outlying islands such as the Isle of Wight, Anglesey, the Isles of Scilly, the Hebrides, and the island groups of Orkney and Shetland, but does not include other outlying islands such as the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.

  5. YES

  6. The English like to think they are.

The last remnants of the British Empire are fading......Scotland has a full Parliament, Northern Ireland has a powerfull Assembly and even the p**s-ant Welsh have a devolved council.

When England has to stand alone, it will fail.

And we'll all sit back and enjoy it.

  7. I agree with Rachelle except she forgot the infamous inclusion of Northern Ireland.

  8. yeah I think so

  9. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland,  is known as the United Kingdom, the UK, or as you stated, Britain. The United Kingdom is comprised of England,Ireland,Scotland and Wales.Britain is the largest of the islands.

This is what wikipedia says:"The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom, the UK, or Britain,[7] is a sovereign island country located off the northwestern coast of mainland Europe comprising of the four constituent countries; England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.[8][9] It comprises the island of Great Britain, the northeast part of the island of Ireland and many small islands. Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK with a land border, sharing it with the Republic of Ireland.[10] Apart from this land border, the UK is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, the English Channel and the Irish Sea. The largest island, Great Britain, is linked to France by the Channel Tunnel."
