  1. I think so, pretty much. It seems more like a social club than anything else.

  2. yeah, i'm australian and the british dont really have anything to do with the running of our country.

  3. Yes.  Canada was the first, with its own Government and constitution, and Queen Victoria became Queen of Canada as well as Queen of Great Britain and (at that time) Ireland, Queen-Empress of India, etc.  Australia, NZ  and South Africa followed the same constitutional formula in the years that followed, as did the Irish Free State (as was) in 1922.  All were independent countries, with the British sovereign of the time as notional constitutional head of the independent state.  Hence such entities as Royal Canadian Navy, Royal Australian Air Force etc.

After WWII, the Irish Republic was declared. The Republic was and is not a member of the Commonwealth.  India and Pakistan also became republics, but within the Commonwealth, with various treaties and agreements with Britain and the other members of the former Empire.

There are not many parts of the Commonwealth remaining that are subject to the authority of the British Crown.  Gibraltar, Ascension, Falklands and a few others!

  4. Yes. The Commonwealth realms are sovereign states, united only in the voluntary and symmetric sharing of the institution of the monarchy, the succession, and the Queen herself, in a symmetrical fashion; this means the Commonwealth realms are in personal union with one another. The United Kingdom no longer holds any legislative power over any country besides itself, although some countries continue to use the British Judicial Committee of the Privy Council as part of their judiciary.

  5. the crown is a front! the real King of England is in Austrailia and he's a drunk in a bar down there ...he is the real king of England! the crown is controled by parliment which is controled by the central bank of England which is controled by the......Rothschilds! seeing pieces of the puzzle?
