Are British MPs as corrupt as politicians in the continents of Africa and Asia?

I ask this because Chancellor Alistair Darling is calling for pay restraints (in other words, "People, stop asking for a pay rise!") while MPs are going to get an extra £40,000 to pay for their second homes. I am struggling to earn a living, as a driver on £15,000 a year, paying high rent, exorbitantly taxed petrol and extremely high household fuel. How can this Misgovernment justify their policies and actions while ordinary, law-abiding, work-class people suffer?

In my opinion, yes. Corruption and idleness has crept down to local council level in my area ! 90% of all politicians are bent !!

I would say that many British politicians are just as corrupt as any in Africa or the Far East. Brown and Darling have told so many bare faced lies about the economy and so called 'green taxes' they have no credibility left. The founders of the Labour Party must be spinning in their graves.

This is a very good question. The short answer is that labour politicians are, but conservative politicians aren't. The psycopathic taxing system of the socialist labour government of the united kingdom is almost entierly to blame for your predicament, for which i have the utmost sympathy. As many commentators on the right side of the political spectrum will testify, "a vote for labour is a vote for hypocrisy". However on the other hand, the conservative party is in favour of more economic freedom and more civil liberties (unlike the labour policy of stealth taxes). If you want to be better off then there is one way to help solve your financial problem: vote conservative.

Politicians are all as bad as each other!All they are interested in is!Power;Money,and Honours!What  we have to remember is!Most of these money grabbing political cretins have stacks of money anyway!So these expenses are just 'chicken feed to them!It is pure greed!More grasping for more! They ought to hang their cretinous heads in shame!I dare say for the male MPs most of it goes on mistresses and prostitutes anyway!!
