What do you pay a guy who generates 14.5 billion for a company? Should he be paid $28 an hour.

We pay baseball players millions....WHY, because they generate fans (PAYING FANS) in the seats.

CEO's are no different. If a company keeps losing money they will fire their CEO and find a new leader....just like in sports.

It's business and good business.

tell me where I'm wrong??????

you get what you pay for

  1. In MY opinion, they are paid way too much! So are sports figures for that matter, it shouldn't cost $200 to see a football game! Oh yeah, it doesn't, I watch in on big screen! :)

While we are at it, how come Police and Fireman only make $35K-$45K average a year???????????????

AND, how come a freight monkey like me makes $55K-$75K average per year?

  2. Depends, the answer is rather subjective.

If CEO pay is tied with performace, and if performance is high with rich profits, then sure. Albeit, there have been cases where CEO pay was tied with performance. CEO's where still compensated richly, while the performance of the company was poor. In that case I believe it is not necessarily wrong, but illogical, at least for the stakeholders of the corporation, being that they have to pay a CEO for virtually nothing.

  3. that is no one's business but the shareholders of the corporation.
