Are CRab spiders venomous?

They are also known as:

Crab Spiders, Jewel Spiders and Smiley Face Spiders.

One was on my head and i tried taking it off when i felt it "poke"

me. Should i go to the ER?

  1. ok just looking up the answer to this just gave me the heebie jeebies. but answer is no they are not harmful to humans


  2. Yes, but the venom isn't strong enough to bother a human.

  3. crab spiders or jewel spiders hav venom but it is not as toxic to humans as to fish so you don't hav to go to the ER.

  4. I have heard that crab spiders are actually incapable of biting people because their fangs are to small and weak.  I am not sure about that though, but I have not heard of them being dangerous or biting anyone at all.  

    When you talk about crab spiders, are you talking about the ground dwelling spiders with the long front legs that are colorful and hide in flowers waiting to ambush a fly or bee?

    Common names of spiders can be confusing but neither are harmful.
