  1. hello!! i AM brasilian and in brasil we have more than 50% of white ppl in the population, a little more than 40% are what we call "mulatos" (ppl that come from families that have both withe and black ppl in, this word is not racist in any way, saying taht someone is mulato is the same thing as saying someone has green eyes) the rest is black or native americans.

in brasil we have the greatest population of italians and germans outside italy and german, although the population variates depending on which part of brasil you're at. the more u go to the north the darker the skin gets, more to the south, whiter it gets. did u know that german immigratio to brasil was so strong that there are cities in the south that ppl actually speak german instead of portuguese ( the official language)?  ppl there are all blonde with blue eyes (in the areas of santa catarina or rio grande do sul, like in joinville or new hamburg)...but at bahia ( a northeastern brasilian state) there are many black ppl and mulatos.. so we have a great varyation, but the greatest part of the brasilian population descends from italians (i am half italian half german), there was a heavy immigration from the in the end of the 19th century, and here in são paulo 90% of the ppl that i know (my friends, and ppl in general) are italians the rest is japanese (many japanese came to brasil, about 100 years ago) in my classroom there are 40 ppl from wich about 7 are japanese and the same porcentage remais in the rest of the school, but the japanese are concentrated in são paulo, mostly in the center

  2. Are caucasians rare in Brazil....Answer no.

  3. Rare? half of the population are Caucasian(white).I´m too white that i have problems with the heat and the sun.The percentage is about 53,4% of white people.

  4. yes, there is actually a lot of mixed people who say they are caucasian, but still around 15% of the population is caucasian.

if you make a survery around 70% say they are, but they are mixed.

  5. Um...no I don't think so.

  6. No, Brazil has the largest population of whites (Caucasians) in all of Latin America.

  7. Yes pure Caucasians anyway. Most of Brazil is black (by American standards anyway (the one drop rule)). Because Brazil has never had a civil rights movement many blacks do not have black pride so that is reflected in their census. For example in Brazil someone who has one black and one white parent would consider themselves white in Brazil but Americans would consider them black. Also even light skin Brazilians with two black parents would consider themselves white. I am studying the slave trade at the University of Pennsylvania and our studies suggest that 90% of brazil is at least 10% African and 83% is at least 50% african, these numbers are not reflected in their census because many blacks in brazil do not consider themselves black. So if you are asking this question from an American point of view then yes, Caucasian people are rare in Brazil.

  10. That depends on the region of Brazil.

In the South, there are many Caucasians. In Central Region, there are many Caucasians and many also crossbred (white and african-descendents).

In the North and Northeast, many crossbred (white and african-descendants and white and Indians).
