  1. When people outside France refer to the Loire Valley they are almost always referring to the part of the river that flows through the Centre region rather than the sections of the river in other regions, although as explained above that is technically 'Loire Valley'.

    And if you are looking for holiday accommodation etc in the 'Loire Valley' - to visit castles etc - it is frequently listed under 'Centre' region.

    The Loire Valley is the valley of the Loire River. The Loire being the longest river in France, it runs through 5 different regions, Centre being only one of them but definitely one of the two regions the most associated with the Loire river.     The famous Loire Valley Castles are located in the Centre region. Other regions that the Loire runs through (on a much shorter distance) are Rhône-Alpes, Auvergne and Burgundy.
