I don't know who the h**l some of you are talking about, I don't need to get over anything, I'm a Cherokee and I want to know if we are of Asian descent, I've been following this stuff on here from a Navajo asking this, but Navajo look Asian, I'm asking because we Cherokee don't look so Asian. I was wondering if we were Asian as well or not.

  1. It is believed that Indian ancesters came from Asia. Now, why you especially do no look as one could be explained by the fact that in the past your encesters were obliged to breed with cow-boys and stuff.

  2. Modern Asians and modern Amerinds SHARE ancestry.

You cant trace it back to a specific group since the populations on both continents have shifted moved and changed since the time of the spilt?

Modern Siberians and Amerinds sharing genetic traits and markers does not mean your ancestors were Siberian it just means those modern Siberians and you SHARE ancestors!

Those ancestors may have lived in a completley different part of northern Eurasia!

  3. IF you HAD been seeing those questions (you're Profile is private -- probably because you don't want us to know you've been ASKING them, some of them specifically mentioned both groups), then you'd have your answer already.

ALL Native Americans came from the same group, in Asia (as did all Europeans).

Seek psychological help with this unhealthy obsession.

  4. Most scientist say that all Native Americans are decedents of Siberians who migrated to the Americas ten thousand years ago.

  5. As I wrote you a couple of days ago. What does an Asian "look like?

Consider the Ainu people of Japan:

The Cherokee have also intermarried and adopted people into the tribe. I recall a few years back the tribal rolls were being purged and there was a lot of hard feeling as some members had always been with the tribe.

As for DNA, language, teeth and blood type, the Native Americans came form Asian. There are no hominids in the Americans so an evolutionary origin is out.

Not to be rude, but shopping for a different answer isn't going to help
