Question:

Are Chinese Noodles (Mr. Noodle, etc.) Vegetarian-friendly?

I've heard two different answers on this one. some people say that the vegetarian, mushroom, etc. flavours are alright but the meat-flavoured ones like Chicken and Beef aren't, and i've heard others say that even the 'meat'-flavoured ones are actually artificial flavours. Does anyone have a reliable authority/source for this?

  1. Packaged noodles have a 50-50 chance of being veggie. The flour  maybe be mixed with eggs.

    So try RICE noodles.

Or try Noodels from India , Maggie / TOP ramen etc, which have a veggie version.

Just a pointer, people eat veggie to be able to lead a healthy life style.

Packaged noodles are not really healthy.

Check out the sodium content , very high, all the chemicals etc.

I know when faced with a situation where there is no veggie stuff and all you can do is get noodles you wanna go for it , but avoid any packaged food on a regular basis.

    Check sodium etc.

I avoid all kind of meat flavoring , artificial or not, cannot tell.

Best way is to ask a company, email them. and if they say its veggie , decide if you wanna believe them and stick to that brand.

Example I like cheese but the one without animal rennet, so I read for that but Cabot is the one I trust and use often.

    Good Luck

  2. look at the ingredients on the packaging. if you see meat products listed in the ingredients than obviously they're not vegetarian friendly.

    common sense.

  3. Yes, the noodles are, but the flavouring packet is usually not.

    Some noodles are egg-noodles though.

    Just read the package.

Also, these noodles are deep fried = not good.

There are some that are not deep fried and use a flash boil and dry method to make them, but I've only actually seen this type once before, and it said so on the package, so that was their selling point.
