Losing Chevron/Texaco sponsorship with JPM has to be a huge blow especially if they dont find anyone to fill those sponsors shoes. Only half of the races next year are secured for JPM and as the we all know sponsors are so hard to come by. Chips already lost the whole #40 team (and Dario) and there is truthfully no telling where he(Dario) will end up next season but I bet its in NASCAR somewhere as a starter (hopefully in the nationwide series). Reed cant be happy where he is so I bet hes looking for the first road out of there...

looks like Chip is in trouble

  1. chip's been in trouble since his toe-nail head showed up.

  2. I'm afraid they are. He's to focused on  INdy Cars

  3. I don't think his days are numbered but he definately needs to pick it up. I think what he really needs is Dodge to pick their whole program up. If they don't do that next year I bet he switches to Toyota and then his team will begin to improve.

  4. Well to tell the truth they've been in trouble for a couple of years.

  5. I think he's a bit too dedicated to his IRL teams to allocate much time to his NASCAR teams.  His teams can't put together decent runs consistently.  And his sponsors are leaving.  If this gets any worse, if I were him I would consider leaving NASCAR.

Though one thing that I don't get, if Yates can run 2 unsponsored cars for this long, why can't Ganassi even run the #40 car unsponsored?

  6. Felix Sabates needs to tear Chip a new b******e!  When it was Team SABCO they didn't have these problems...

Edit because you can't say @-h0le!

  7. Chip has been in trouble for awhile.  From his musical crew chiefs to dropping the 40 team and losing sponsors they seem to be in a downward spiral.  When Juan gets fed up and leaves he will be done, unless he sells out before that.  The rumors have Penske Racing as the most likely prospect to acquire Chip's team.  Chip has a lot of money but he doesn't like to part with it, I think he is done by the end of next year, as far as the NASCAR Sprint CUp series goes.  He seems to be more into the open wheel programs he has and he's just spread himself too thin these days.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  8. I agree. CGw/FS RACING has been trouble for the past few seasons...which is surprising to me a little. Remember when Chip first came to CUP?? Scored Dodge's first victory since the mid 70's, almost won the championship with Sterling Marlin, etc etc. I think they're biggest problem is CHIP GANASSI. The man seems very impatient....instead of letting a crew chief and driver earn each other's respect and get some chemistry BAM he either rotates the crew or fires the crew chief. I think a winning combination has to take time...it always has. But in today's NASCAR you have to have results right out of the box. A struggling team will always be struggling....or at least it seems that way. Chip if he stays in CUP needs to reorganize find some great talent, KEEP the talent in place, get out their hair for awhile and let them work. Chip is obviously talented and successful in other forms of racing....it all comes down to chemistry. And the 40,41,42 definitely lack chemistry. Reed is a talented driver and would probably be better off at another team...I think CGFS just needs to start over and get a fresh start. Just an opinion of course.

  9. It kinda seems that way doesn't it? Personally I don't think so. There are rumors that Michael Waltrip Racing & him would merge & race the #41, #42, #44 & #55 cars, but I doubt that would happen, just too many complications in the way for that to be possible.

  10. If Chip could take his head out of his ace for about 10 minutes, that would be an improvement in itself..  The whole CGR team is going defunk if you ask me. It's like his mind/heart/resources are all going into his open wheel and sports car teams. I feel bad for Franchitti, Sorenson, and Montoya.. but even more so for all the crew members associated to the NASCAR side of things @ CGR. A lot of jobs will be lost if that place goes defunk.
