I just wonder if a study on this has ever been done.

Some Christians tend to have wild imaginations while most atheists I know seem more systematic and logical?

Any thoughts on other psycological factors that may influence a persons religion or lack thereof?

  1. I don't think that's necessarily true as a rule, but I do think that religious people tend to be better at spatial reasoning and grasping the abstract than non-religious people are.  Non-religious people are better at grasping the concrete.  I'm sure there are exceptions to this, and there haven't been any studies done to support the idea, but from my experience it seems to be true, for the most part.

I do think that religious people use different parts of the brain than non-religious people do.

  2. I've had several online tests that show I am much more right-brain dependant, so I say that is incorrect.

  3. As far as I know I am a christian with a left brain...

  4. I think more atheists tend to be left-brained, since that is usually what leads them to question their faith.

Please, don't take that as me saying atheists are always smarter than theists. That is not at all what I meant, so please don't try and twist my words.

Gah, I hate that spinning lady! She always changes on me, sometimes when I'm looking :/

EDIT: Exactly what I think :P I just said that to make sure others didn't think I viewed religious folk as stupid.
