Are Compaq lap tops any good?

Im looking to get the Compaq AMD Turion X2 RM-70 Dual-Core 2.0GHz Laptop (CQ50-106CA) Any pro9blems with it?

Sounds like a pretty decent laptop based on that little bit you gave us. Personally, I've never had any problems with my Compaq laptop. I've had for 3, or was it 4 ( I can't remember ) years and have never had a problem. Okay, I did have one problem my first time booting it up but I think I had gotten a virus because it was before I had set up any security. A quick call to customer support fixed this though.

I've never been a fan of Cpmpaq. Though HP now owns them I still prefer, Toshiba, Sony, Dell and HP.

No, they suck.  Buy an Apple.  As a life-long PC-er, I finally gave up.  We have always had our problems, but Vista is pure evil.  Run far away.

HP / Compaq are good they are build 2 different company (high end ASUS, regular Arima)

Try to but on make buy ASUS, they are very good product. Arima is not that good, Dell, Gateway are selling Arima notebook.

CQ50-106CA are ASUS made good model, you are safe to buy.
