I'm not conservative and I'm not secretly wishing McCain had picked Romney.  I will outright tell you I wish McCain had picked Romney.  But while Palin is not my favorite choice for VP, I like her well enough and find her a suitable enough choice.

Palin's viewpoints fall in alignment with mine, so it doesn't matter to me that Romney wasn't picked. Plus Sarah looks a whole lot prettier.

As the head of Alaska's National Guard and as the mother of a soldier herself, Governor Palin understands what it takes to lead our nation and she understands the importance of supporting our troops.

Governor Palin has the record of reform and bipartisanship that others can only speak of.

Her experience in shaking up the status quo is exactly what is needed in Washington today.

Romney has more real life experience that would have benefited McCain in many ways.  However, McCain's choice may have some benefits when it comes to winning over the women that believe it's time for their gender to have an opportunity in office at that or a higher level.
