Are Cunard cruise ships worth the hype?

I know Carnival bought Cunard recently, so I'm curious as to whether this acquisition has "cheapened" the Cunard reputation. If so, are the cruises worth their hefty prices?

  2. I would not pay for it.  I would rather find a cheaper cruise and have fun.  I do not need all of the stuffiness.

  3. Cunard is and always will be a luxury liner not a cruise ship

    grand ballroom and the whole 9 yards of pomp

    nice but I'll stay with Carnival, I could not get my husband in a tux to save his life
