I have been to the Disney cruise website and while they have adult pools and a few other things. It seems that 90% of the stuff is geared for the kids. So if two adults want to go on this. Is it a waste of time?? Or are there really adult things to do as well or adult activities. I am looking to find this out form people who have actually BEEN on the cruise. Thanks.

  1. We went on the Disney Magic for Halloween.  It was great. It is the most beautiful cruise line I have been on (I have been on Costa, Holland America, Carnival and Royal Caribbean).  The food was top notch.  Yes, there is no casino but it is great.

You do have to have the love of Disney in your heart to enjoy!!  The island is a plus also.

  2. I went on the Disney Magic about 8 years ago and I don't remember much, but I do remember everything was themed very well.  The restaurants are amazing and each is different in its own way.  I forget the name of it, but you're in for a surprise in the "painter's pallatte" restaurant or whatever it is called.  Most of the shows are Disney themed, but there are late night activities like night clubs, bars, and comedic performances, as there are on any cruise.

If I were going on another cruise anytime soon, I would choose Royal Carribean or Carnival, but probably Royal Carribean first.  I jsut went on a Carnival cruise and there is so much to do.  On both of these cruise lines, you will get more or less the same stuff at a fraction of the cost (Disney tends to inflate its prices).  Plus, there are a lot of children on Disney cruises, because it is a Disney vacation at sea.  Disney is the staple of family vacations.  If you want adult-oriented entertainment with fewer children, I would recommend Royal Carribean or Princess Cruises.  I believe both are less expensive that the Disney cruise and travel to more exotic places.  Hope this helps!

  3. You're on the right track with the research you've already done.  We were on the Disney Magic this past summer and Disney was extremely well organized for the whole trip.  They had programs for adult couples, families/kids, singles/single parents. I was impressed with their organization from the moment we landed (we bought the ground transportation as well as the pre and post hotel stays).

Disney has a good website to get you started.  You can also check out www.cruisecritic.com where you will be very good and critical reviews of every cruise line and every cruise ship.  Knowing the good and not-so-good points will help prepare you.

Good Luck and have fun!  My best vacation over the past 25 years was the Disney Cruise we just took!  You'll be glad you picked them.

  4. it depends if you like disney.

    the service is tops.

they do cater to adults, that is why there are so many going(who don't have kids)

    good luck with your decision.

  5. will I have not been on it but my boss lady went like last week. But they say the only's  one who enjoy it is the kids. the only thing that they have for adults are the disco club for adult only thats all that they have.

its only for kids to enjoy

    thats all

  6. I have been on the Disney Cruise with my husband and my sister.  We are all adults - and we had alot of fun.

There are adult only pools, and their private island has an adult only beach.

You do not have to be around any kids if you don't want to be, they never bothered us on the ship.

The only thing that the Disney ship does not have is a Casino.  But I found that I really didn't miss it, and I normally spend time in the ships Casino's.

Disney is top of the line - and you will have a great time!

  7. My daughter and I recently enjoyed the Disney Wonder Cruise.  I thought the same thing, oh its for kids. OH NO ITS NOT.  I guess depending on when you go (we went in May kids were still in school) there was not alot of kids and it was not crowded.  The Disney Wonder boat is HUGE.  There is so much to do.  We went on three day one (Thurs eve-Sunday morn) Every nite you eat at a different restaurant, every nite you enjoy a wonderful outdoor deck party and every nite there are different "Disney Broadway" musicals/shows that they present to you in their main auditorium.  The characters are always out for photo-ops and then when you get to your destination - Bahamas you separate and can take on different excursions or just tour the island.  Their private Island Cast Away Cay is wonderful, HUGE BBQ and they too offer different activities.  There was a couple that was there for their honeymoon and the staff went all out for them....Its a really fun cruise which im sure you will have loads of fun.  OF course the best thing is the all inclusive food you can eat ANYTIME 2-4-7 free room service etc.  Diffrent varieties of foods to choose from, ie, veggie, sandwich, hotodgs burgers, pizza etc. The only thing missing because its a "family" oriented cruise is a casino on deck.  But they have different clubs on site that im sure you will enjoy!

  9. I've been on Disney cruise line a couple years ago, there was  some honeymoon couples rest were kids WOW!.   this ships too many kids or who feel like kid and everything Disney oriented even adult pool, so too many Disney freaks there.

I only did not like the fact kids were swimming jumping at the adult pool it was the only down side for me.  There is cool entertainment night time but all disney again, For me adult entertainment is poor, unles you like Disney musicals all for the families. I am not saying they were bad, not just my type thing.

  10. if I go on a cruise, it is for relaxation and adult fun.  I do not enjoy children on a cruise ship, so Disney and Carnival would not be my choice.  (have been on Carnival)
