  1. Obviously cats.  There very aware of whats going on around them.  Very quick as well

  2. Dogss!

  3. Neither because they don't understand the concept of roads.

Unless they are a trained seeing eye dog.

  4. It depends on the animal, but i think cats would because i think of dogs of not looking before they leap.

  5. CATS definatly

  6. in my experience, they both just run out in front of me without looking in either direction

  7. I really don't think it's about the species, but moreso about the individual animal. I've seen both cats and dogs cross cautiously and then just run across. It really depends on their training, how often they are outside, etc.

Personally, our dog is more careful to stay by us at my moms (he's too busy smelling stuff anyway) but at my sisters (where it's more like an alley) he runs in the street.

My cat, when she use to be an outside cat, would actually sit by the side of the road, wait for a car and then run across. Needless to say, she stays inside now. So of my personal pets I would say my cat was more likely to look, though she wasn't necessarily safer. Our dog was more "Let's run out in the road as fast as I can to explore as many places as I can". He has nearly run into the sides of cars before.

So, I'd say cats, but it really depends.
