  1. no there not the most deadly spider and they can still bite but they can't go into your skin and there not spiders there harvestman :)

  2. No,they aren't even spiders, and I've never had one try to even attempt to bite me.That's an old wive's tale.

  3. Actually, they're harmless :)

  4. acualy the are one of the possionist spiders but fangs are too little...

  5. No. Daddy Longlegs Spiders are not the most venomous spider. That is a myth. They can bite, but they aren't venomous enough to make people sick, although they can actually kill some venomous spiders, eg. Redbacks.

There are two other creatures that get called Daddy Longlegs, and they are Craneflies and Harvestmen. Neither of them are spiders, and the myth you are referring to is about the Daddy Longlegs Spider, not about the other two, but as I said, it is a myth. Daddy Longlegs spiders are not venomous enough to make you sick.

Here's a bit more info. about them:

  6. Well actually they aren't the most poisonous spiders in the world, but they do have a venom that can be deadly to us. The thing is, dady long legs, unlike other  arachnid, have very  weak jaws, and so that's why they only feed  on plant matter and carrion. They do try to bite you if you hold them, but their jaws are far to weak to penitrate through human skin.

P.S. - Daddy longlegs aren't actual spiders. They belong to  a group of  arachnids very closely related to spiders called Harvestmen. Unlike spiders the male  Harvestmen always has a p***s. They also, do not have the ability to spin webs. You may have seen them tangled up in webs, but those are other spider webs the walked into just like the other insects on the web.

Depends how you hold the the harvestman, Dances With Woofs!!. If you handle it  aggressively, just like any other animal, it can attempt to bit you. If you tried pick it up by its legs it will attempt to bite you, but if you just let it crawl on you it's like it doesn't even know someone's holding it.

I am talking about the true harvestmen, not the spider.

  7. NO and NO

    Mythbusters tested this myth.

Myth statement: A Daddy long-legs spider has the most potent venom of all spiders, but is unable to pierce human skin.

    Status: Busted

Notes: A Daddy long-legs was able to bite through the skin of Adam's arm. He reported nothing more than a very mild, short-lived burning sensation. Analysis of the venom proves it does not approach the potency of the Black widow spider.

DADDY-LONGLEGS ARE ONE OF THE MOST POISONOUS SPIDERS BUT THEIR FANGS ARE TOO SHORT TO BITE HUMANS

This tale has been lurking around for years. I have heard it repeatedly in the United States and even heard a schoolteacher misinforming her class at a museum in Brisbane, Australia. This is incorrect, but to clarify it, several points need to be explained first.

    The animals

Most folks who retell this tale have no idea that they are referring to two completely separate groups of animals: "daddy-longlegs" and "daddy-longlegs spiders". In the animal class.....
