...When you are 27? I am learning to play on my husband's acoustic electric Takamine, and I was looking at the Wildwood Artist line from Daisy Rock. Eventually we would like to play together on stage, but I don't want to look like a freak...

  1. Daisy guitars aren't "uncool," but what you get from image, you lose in sound. They are not very good-sounding guitars. I'd rather have an instrument that looked plain but sounded good than the other way around personally. It's really your choice, but know the sound isn't top-notch.

  2. A guitar is a personal choice. You have to try out the guitar and see if you get along with it. Now I personally wouldn't be caught dead with a Daisy Rock (I am a Les Paul owner), but it might be the right thing for you. So just follow your own instincts instead of worrying about what others will think.

If you want more professional advice, used guitar stores have very helpful sales people who can make informed suggestions. I would recommend a used dealer over Guitar Center because you will get better in depth service.

  3. It all depends on what you like. People are going to be there to listen to the music, and 99% of them aren't going to give a second thought to the guitar you're playing. So, pick a guitar that YOU like.

Playing an instrument, especially when you first start out, can be a lot more fun if you're playing an instrument that you love, so don't be afraid to get whatever you want.

  4. just get something that you would like. if you want something cool and for women, but not "too" girly, for sure check out the gibson les paul godess. its a redesigned les paul, you can check out all the specs of it on www.gibson.com

but if you like daisy rock guitars, i would go for one if i were you. it doesn't matter what other people think, as long as your a good player.

  5. I had to do a google image search but I think they're cute. I might get the purple one lol . Mind u some ppl are going to think its a tad childish to be using a guitar made for like a 10 year old girl if they know . But I think it would be really hard to tell unless they're some kind of guitar collecter freak and know a lot of guitar brands. If u can rock on it and sound good they're not going to care too much i think.

  6. I have seen them in Music stores and I think they are cute... something a 10 year old girl would just go crazy over... but they are not something an adult  serious musician or an adult  musician who wants to be taken seriously would ever play on stage.

Be realistic... how long do you think it would take for the judges of "Can you Duet" or one of the other Nashville reality shows to take before they laughed you off the stage?... maybe 10 seconds before they were rolling on the floor and said "thank you... NEXT"
