Hi,

We have daylight tubes in some of our offices, i know they help the eyes ease eye strain when concentrating on small detail but i also understand the higher levels of blue light and uve can damage the eyes especially anything over 6hrs.

Does anyone know anything about this and the effect of blue light on the eyes.

thanks..

  1. Hi, If there is too much UV light being produced there is more risk of developing cataracts. Therefore they will need to be lasered off (the cataracts). See your office manager to get the lights replaced as they are faulty.

  2. if these tube are giving out any UV light then they are faulty,

there is more UV in natural daylight!!

natural daylight is very blue and 6 hours of daylight harms no-one.

these are beneficial to your eyes over the yellowish ones and will result in less eyestrain.
