Are Dell laptops good i want to get a new laptop but don't know which ones are good.? i like the dells!?

If u say that the dells are not good laptops tell me a mark that is and won't cost me $1000! i don't want something 2 expensive!

dell is the only way to o ..dont buy it in a store..call dell directly and talk to a sales person tell them what you intend to use it for and theyll hook you up ..get xp pro and dont worry about a thing ..you can get xp pro any other way now...also get the gold warranty plan its worth the 100 bucks..

Dell laptops are fine, just be sure and get one with an Intel dual core processor in it and a couple Gigs of RAM, and a big hard drive.

Laptops today are built with certain uses in mind. Some are designed to replace desktop units, some for entertainment (faster graphics) & some for lightweight & portability. So, ask yourself how you plan to use it.  If it will be your only unit, try getting one that is robust & can do it all.  Only worry about weight if you take it places. In regards to the brand, you really can't go wrong with any of the main ones, Dell, Toshiba, HP, Gateway. However, take a look at Lenovo. These are really wellbuilt(somewhat pricey) but have some pretty unique feat such as system restore, moving the needle off the hard drive when it detects a fall etc. It won't look the prettiest but it is all business. One last thing, no matter what unit you buy, purchase an internet security suite & consider getting a small backup external HD.

I have owned  other brands and this time I bought a Dell and I am thoroughly satisfied with the laptop and its' performance.  I think you will be making a wise choice in purchasing a Dell.  I purchased mine at a flea market from a reputable vendor who has a store outside of the market as well.  My experience with Acer was the opposite of the answer above mine....they make  great desktop but not so great laptop

I had a bad experience with a dell laptop.  So did my mom.  They are much too expensive for what they are worth.  I have an "acer" brand lap top at the moment and in my opinion it is much better than dell, not to mention a lot less expensive.
